The HBO special sucked
Loved John in Summer if Sam and as Benny Blanco from the Bronx
shareuhm, no it didn't suck. as a matter of fact it made me more of a fan of his. it took a lot of work and talent. i think he put on a great performance. i learned a lot about his career. and it was entertaining. i was impressed to learn that he writes. and writing and performing your own one man show is nothing to sneeze at. i mean, you're entitled to not like it. but my two cents is that i found it to be enjoyable and pretty good. i didn't expect that out of him. i think that's why i liked it so much.
shareWOW the best were jamming a summer does is his one-man shows. You really don't know what is good or bad?
shareI really loved it.
shareYou had to be there. It was a different time.
shareYou just didn't get it, did you?
Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...
I totally agree. I'm watching Ghetto Klown on HBO and I can't believe all the work that went into this.
Don't think I've ever scene his standup but now I'm a fan and going to lookup and hope to find some of his other works on Amazon videos.
What was there to get? All the jokes and observations were run of the mill...You must be 12 or live some sheltered life in a bubble to think any more of what he tried to say, do or convey. The only thing laughable about it, was how laughably bad it was. No wait, he said AY papi, cue rolling on the floor laughing uncontrollably. Wow. riveting stuff. So poignant LOL
