Jeffrey Jones is an actor most renowned for his roles playing the strange, generally unlikable comic foils to the audience’s hero. Jones is more than that, though. He is a purist who greatly values acting and takes the craft very seriously. He spent years honing his ability in acting schools, and many more in theater, including Broadway. When he imported that to the silver screen, it panned out well. Recently though, things haven’t been going so hot for Jones. Roles have dried up; he has been arrested on numerous occasions, the jailing centering around his status as a sex offender.

In a weird way he's lucky...had he not fallen from grace previously he almost definitely would have been called out in the me too movement. So at least he got his hell out of the way years ago and is largely forgotten about today.

Not really...the controversy faded quickly and no felony charges were brought against him and his career is still intact (he had a decent resurgence after that actually). Think more people remember him being busted for masturbating in a movie theater than that (from which he also rebounded).

TMC-4 was just quoting an article. Nothing more, nothing less.

Jones is still a registered Sex Offender according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's website, even though he resides in California.

Regardless, the guy was hilarious as the principal in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986).

True, but they're pretty much few and far in-between. Jeffrey Jones is a registered sex offender and was exposed to be a pedophile. He's career in Hollywood is for all intents and purposes, over. Jeffrey Jones was basically a smaller-scale version of what Kevin Spacey is now. He's way too radioactive to take a chance on unless you're ready to face a huge wave of negative publicity.

If there’s one actor who absolutely looks like a sex offender… it’s Jeffrey Jones, molester moustache and all.

A real shame because he was always a highlight in any film.
