Recent television appearances promoting "Blood and Oil"

I recently saw Don on Jimmy Kimmel(or was it Jimmy Fallon?)and Live with Michael and Kelly.

1. This man looks sensational for 66! Considering that he has not always
engaged in the most healthy lifestyle choices, I was so pleased to see how
great he looked and how happy he is with his life now. He was praising
his three younger children, and then did say "one of my children was doing
well these days. (I presume that he meant Dakota, although his "clone son"
Jesse isn't doing too badly these days either.)

2. He told Michael and Kelly that he had six children, but I have only been able
see five listed on most Internet sites. Who is this sixth child? Does he
consider one of his step-children one of "his?" I know that Melanie
Griffith had a child with former husband Steven Bauer (aka Rocky Echevarria).
Does any one know who this sixth child is? Just curious--

I will say that "Blood and Oil" seems like an old fashioned "Dallas" type night-
time soap of which I have never been terribly fond, but I will tune in just to
see Don, as I have been a fan of his since the early seventies.

Yes, he's counting Melanie's son Alex as his. I believe he legally adopted him while they married.

I am well aware that Steven is Alex's biological father and that Don has 5 biological kids, thanks. When either Don or Melanie used the term "adopted" in regards to Alex in the Life article back in '89, perhaps it was meant in the emotional sense rather than the legal sense, I really don't know. It is also possible that a very coked up Steven either lost his parental rights or signed them away and Don actually did legally adopt Alex.

Wow, a tad defensive maybe? Whew, take a breath. I was simply making a comment, more for providing a full background of information for others who may read this thread than to "correct" you. I think you're over-thinking this whole thing a bit, by the way....this "child" you are speaking of is over 30 now....whether he was a step-child or "legally adopted" is a bit beside the point nowadays.

It was already very clear that the original poster knew who Alex's biological father is and was just looking for confirmation that, regardless of Alex's age or status, Don counts him as one of his children. Since I had already provided that, no, it actually wasn't necessary for you state what was already known.
