Why does no one ask her this key question?

The question is: Why has she stopped acting?

And, whatever her answer is, there are several follow-up questions that could be asked – such as, was it a conscious decision? Can we expect to ever see her back on the screen? Is she holding out for something? And I could go on…

I'm also wondering if maybe she quit, just because she got tired of movies, or if maybe she doesn't like the business anymore.

Goldie has been on several interviews – the most recently I've seen was on the Queen Latifah Show, and no one ever asks her anything about her movie business, from what I can tell! They always focus on her foundations for children. It makes me wonder if maybe she gives the interviewer specific orders not to ask her about her future in terms of film. Because surely it's on everyone's mind, it seems only natural that somebody would ask. But from what I can tell, no one has!

Anybody know why that might be?

She never STARTED acting.

Honestly, I think she knows her time is done. She has almost always played the funny, cute girl, but that doesn't always translate in your 60's. She really couldn't get away with it in The Banger Sisters, so I think she had just decided to enjoy her older years. Not every actor wants to be in the business forever.

That's probably true. But, it's still odd that no-one has asked her when her next movie will be or something, so that she herself can tell us if she has no plans to return to the screen.

Maybe it wasn't a pleasant decision for her and remains a sore subject? Hence, reporters may be given specific instructions before interviews not to ask her about her screen return, in the same way that reporters are warned never to ask Faye Dunaway about MOMMIE DEAREST. It's beginning to seem that way.

I saw an interview on UK tv with her a few months back. She said she continuously gets given scripts but she is holding out for a comeback that really catches her imagination and something that just feels right.
She is clearly very particular in what roles she takes on as she has only done 34 movies in a career spanning over 40 years.
Anyhow she is currently making a movie with Bette Midler and Diane Keaton

Because she's unwilling to play her age. The only actresses who work at her age play woman her age.
