his blowup at the toronto film fest.

-during the ‘a history of violence’ press conference, Ed Harris kind of freaks out.

-I found it a bit disturbing. Any comments?
-let me also say that this display did not change my respect for him. I enjoy all the work that he has done.
-My view is that he was making a point about anger, and that was some good improve acting. If not, maybe there was a beetle on the table and a spider behind him.

-another note is: I think the clip was edited down (let’s say from around an hour) to make it look like the interviewer wanted no part in the madness.

-take care everyone.

I agree, he was making a point about violence and anger.

Don't believe anything you see and half of what you hear.

I remember discussing this ages ago around the time it actually happened. Search a bit deeper and I'm sure you'll find many pages discussing it if you wanted an intsa-collective viewpoint. As apposed waiting 6 months or so for a semblance of a discussion forming in this thread.

But yea, most people, including myself, agreed with what you said... and those who didn't are probably budding tabloid journalists ;p

Obviously you won't get a balanced view here! You will just likely get his fans claiming he was making a deep and philosophical point about the true nature of violence.
In truth - he is a little spoilt and flipped out. Pause the video as he looks at the director and his face tells all. He flipped out like a spoilt middle aged Hollywood brat. End of story.

Of course, his die hard fans would claim there was meaning had he taken a crap on the desk - but that doesn't make it so.

Now - where are the grammar police to pick my words apart?

I was shocked when I saw what he did at that interview. Don't know what to make of that.. But then, i've seen the behind the scenes clips from The Rock, and he gets in such a rage if he gets his lines wrong, shouting, swearing, kicking things, really unprofessional. He's got a bad temper, and could really snap..
