Adopting?

Some time ago, I read in People that Daryl wanted to adopt an American child. It said that she spoke about the fact that there are hundreds of American children who need help just as badly as many children in the struggling areas of the world. While she obviously cares, I agree. Not every child in USA is having a great life. And America is not the ONLY country where a child can have an excellent life. Most of Europe, Australia, Asia, and many other parts of the world have the same wonderful resources as USA.

Anyway, my question is: Whatever happened? I have heard nothing else of this story. Was it reliable? Or did the adoption fall through?

I was American-born, adopted, and it saved my life (I was a sick baby). Caring people should adopt more and save lives of these innocent children.
