Star Wars legend Mark Hamill is given the Icon award at San Diego Comic-Con

Joins George Lucas and Stan Lee as Official Icons.

The Luke Skywalker actor received the prestigious honour – which acknowledges those who have brought comic book culture and arts culture to wider audiences – while doing a panel at the San Diego convention.

"If it weren't for you, I certainly wouldn't be standing here," he said to fans. "I started coming to these cons years before I met George [Lucas].
