I would be extremely proud if I had a career like Mark Hamill.

He plays Luke Skywalker, the main hero and protagonist of the original, classic Star Wars trilogy, one of the greatest, famous, iconic, popular and most influential movie trilogies of all time.

He has voiced The Joker, Batman's archenemy for over 20 years and holds the record for being the actor who has played The Joker the most in the whole history of the character. Many geeks and die hard comic book fans consider him to be the best Joker.

He has done all forms of acting, live action movies, live action television roles, stagework, and dozens of voice acting roles.

He has also directed a movie and has created and written his own comic book, "The Black Pearl".

He has over 270 acting credits here on IMDb.com and he has probably done more as an actor and has had a more successful career than what I could ever hope to have or most people I know.

He also has many fans worldwide who love him and his talent just as much as I do. He seems like such a lovely and friendly guy who always gives credit to people.

I myself am an amatuer actor and have studied acting and performance at North East Scotland College, Aberdeen.

All you have said about Mark Hamill is true, of course--and he is indeed to be envied and admired for his professional achievements--but there is one very important part of his life that you did not mention.

His personal life. He has been married to the same person since 1978 (which is now getting on for 38 years), they have three children together, and by all accounts have a happy relationship.

That steady, family-friendly, scandal-free life may not count as a "career", but is just as much worthy of admiration as any of his professional accomplishments...and it is extremely rare in show business. 

I agree, he is one of us, an underdog. He grew up a geek but became an icon himself in the sci-fi, video-games and comic book community, yet he is humble enough to sign common folk autographs and take pictures with them. He is a real showman, at any point in his career I have seen him doing a diva tantrum, and he does lots of independent collaborations, with the likes of Kevin Smith, and somehow managed to live very well under the radar of mainstream films to this point, as well as raising a long term marriage and a family.

He is now in the history books (see the 80's cover of the book The Hero with a Thousand Faces). He mastered the term of being an artist, perhaps what he has left is being a painter, and a musician, he can sing as well. Does he have a Doctor Honoris degree? He deserves one.

You have been CRURNED!
