Could not agree more. Superb actor. As with most prolific stars he made his share of dreck, but he is good enough that he could shine in almost anything. Modern cinema misses him - hard to believe it's almost a decade and a half since his last film.

If the definition of 'acting' is making all dialogue sound completely natural, than he may be the greatest actor of all time.
He's not the most theatrical performer, certainly not the most distinct personality, but I've never seen him be anything but completely real, regardless of the quality of the film as a whole.
