He's also playing the dictator of Georgia in a new movie. Saakashvili regularly shuts down Georgian media and TV outlets, dissidents are jailed and harrassed. Andy Garcia is a hypocrite.

reply

Yes, you are correct. Garcia is a flaming right-wing hypocrite. For Garcia, it's OK to butcher people as long as it's a right-wing dictator like Cuba's Batiste doing it.

reply

What?! Playing a dictator in a film has nothing to do with his personal political views. It does not make him a hypocrite. Andy is an actor. Ideally an actor should be able to play a variety of roles, from characters that are good and bad. This is just a role, it does not advocate any sort of ideology or government form of control.

Dalton and Craig! Accept NO substitutes!

sir anthony hopkins played nixon in a movie -- do you actually think he was a fan of nixon? I think not-- they are only PLAYING the roles in a movie....my god get a life. if you don't like andy garcia get the hell off his message board.

reply

Firstly - Andy Garcia has repeatedly voiced his opposition to Castro so that pretty much puts him to the right of the political spectrum. Secondly, message boards are there for people to CRITICISE too. It's called free speech.

-Goodnight, mother of six!
-Goodnight, father of two!

Andy Garcia's film The Lost City criticizes both Batista and Castro. Both were brutal dictators.

reply

So criticizing a murdering communist thug who has enslaved an entire country for more than half a century is bad, according to you, and you justify your opinion by hiding behind the First Amendment?

Hypocrite much?
