He's a white Hispanic. (you do realize Hispanic is not a race, right?)

Lol you're absolutely right........I know he asked in 2006 but it's sad even then and now people don't realize the difference between ethnicity and race and you have to remind people that being Latino or Hispanic is not being of another race because Latino/Hispanic isn't a race. lol

What's more dangerous than sincere ignorance?

The whole Hispanic/latino thing is a cultural phenomenon only seen in the United States Of America. The reason why is because of the USA's proximity to Mexico, and the large influx of Mexicans in the USA. Mexicans are usually mixed people, they have Spanish, Indigenous and even African ancestry. So if a typical Anglo-American were to hear you speak Spanish, or see that you have a Spanish surname, regardless of your racial features, they would assume that you are Mexican and then get confused about your race. Some Americans think that Spain is in Mexico when in fact it is located in Europe.

I myself have Spanish ancestry, I come from Louisiana and on my mothers side of the family I have what we call "isleno" ancestry. Ancestors from the Canary Islands. In Louisiana, I'm a white American, but anywhere else in the USA and I'm a mexican because of my last name :)
