Obviously, you do not know how movies are made.
Brendan is an actor, not a casting director. The film's Director Stephen Sommers gave The Rock his "big break". Blame him, not Brendan.
The Rock had a non-speaking role in "The Mummy Returns". "The Scorpion King" was a spin-off and he only made one (correction: two)of those. He simply had the good fortune to receive a role in the "sequel" to "Journey to the Center of the Earth" when Brendan chose not to reprise his role as Trevor Anderson for reasons of his own and no, it was not because of Director Eric Brevig (who also chose not to do the film, preferring to return to his first love, special effects.)
Brendan and The Rock have no contact.
Again, Brendan did not "let" The Rock "be in his movie". That would be
Stephen Sommers.
A recent filmography full of "rumored" and "announced" projects is not quite being "on top of" Hollywood. There are many actors ahead of him.
Brendan has not lost a wink of sleep over The Rock. Trust me.
