You have to Listen to Jane Fonda Speaking To Understand the Hate

I thought Jane Fonda was dumb for going to and fawning over the Viet Cong but I didn't understand the hatred it engendered until I heard some of the recordings she made at the time. Listening to the disdain in her voice as she is "speaking to American soldiers" and urging them to throw down their guns or whatever, she did sound very similar to Tokyo Rose and it did make me mad when I listened to it and this was over thirty years later (that I listened to it)! I know that JF has apologized and said that it was stupid and thoughtless and wrong to speak that way and I can accept that but I can also understand how real American soldiers might have a harder time forgetting what she did when they were under incredible stress, simply trying to serve their country in the way that the government at that time said they should.

Why everybody seems to love soldiers when they actually go to foreign countries to kill the local population? are you *beep* insane? They don't deserve any particular respect for their deeds in the war.

reply

Wow, do you realize those soldiers are the reason you are allowed to even speak or type here freely if you live in the USA? Don't EVER insult our troops. They are heroic and you would more than likely be too cowardly to serve this country.

NEVER call someone "insane" simply because you disagree. That shows me your immaturity and lack of actual care for people. And your enormous lack of knowledge about history.

reply

I don't live in USA. I wouldn't serve any country because I disagree with war, simple as that. I disagree with phony acts of violence and the use of said acts as an excuse for more violence. Immaturity, because I disagree with your morals? I think soldiers (of course those who go to war by choice) are nothing but the brainwashed gears of a despicable system. They are indoctrinated to believed their cause is more valid than their enemy's. Why would I support that behavior?

Seriously, how can you believe soldiers never hurt innocent people? How naive can you be? War is unjust, despicable in every way. The naturalization of killing people transformed the system's hitmen into heroes.

Speak freely? you are from the USA and you think you are free? man, what a loose definition of freedom you've learned. Freedom trought violence and death seems like an optimus thing to you, but let me ask you, in which way did Vietnamese people offended your freedom? Do you actually believe that most of the terrorist attacks (that your governement used as excuse for invations) weren't made up? That the war waged for years was in the name of freedom?

It's ironic how people go to war because of sentimental reasons: pride, love for their country, fear. But what they don't realize is that most wars are fought for money and power, they don't realize that the fellow man that lies on the contrary trench is just as convinced of their state's orders, that the enemy it's not actually an enemy, it's just a puppet, a brainless puppet.

reply

Most of them were drafted you idiot, they didnt have a choice.

"Those soldiers are the reason you are allowed to even speak or type here freely if you live in the USA?"

Yeah, that`s because the Vietnamese peasents were such a great threat to Americas "freedom".

There is no freedom in Vietnam.

reply

Please, tell us how the soldiers in Viet Nam are the reason for freedom of speech. And it's you who needs to read up on history if you think that many of the soldiers in Viet Nam were "heroic".

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

reply

Actually the guy is correct without our military, which is one of the strongest in the world, we would have been taken over long ago by our enemies and you'd be speaking a different language. Seriously, what country is going to try to attack us and take over our country (The US)? Only one I can think of is China. Sorry to destroy all those liberal talking points you were indoctrinated with.

reply

No dear--I am allowed to speak freely b/c of the CONSTITUTION of the United States--a document I have no doubt few members of the VFW would even recognize.
