The last Hanoi Jane post??

For years I've read thousands of posts on the various forum boards here and there and thought that someday I might respond to them. I never did one here, and now that the boards are going to close soon, I figured I'd take this opportunity.

To all of the Jane Fonda supporters ask yourself this: What if the same thing had happened in 1943, and Henry Fonda had gone to Germany, and made radio broadcasts, derided American POWs, called them war criminals, and was photographed sitting on an AA cannon used to shoot down American airplanes. How would have people reacted to that? Wouldn't that have ended his career? So why is it different for Jane?

I can only assume it's one of two things: the Vietnam War, unlike WW II, wasn't popular, or that the people who defend just don't have a clue. My bet the main reason is the second one.

For those of you who didn't know, 1943 was in the middle of WW II.

Everyone may have an opinion but very few seem to have an informed one.

It wasn't popular. But I think she still made a name for herself.

There's nothing wrong with opposing the war but posing with the Viet Cong was incredibly stupid and insensitive, it would be the modern equivalent of posing with Isis or Taliban fighters.
