Besides the obvious, Carrie had to deal with her mother's impending death. Debbie Reynolds was not long for this world. The woman had had two strokes (plus 3 mini strokes) and was unable to walk and rarely left her bed. That's a lot for any person to deal with, especially for someone with bipolar and addiction issues.

The stress of her career revival, her mother's failing health, bipolar, addiction, smoking, 16 cans of cokes a day, she barely stood a chance. Throw in the fact that Eddie Fisher was a drug addict and was also bipolar, her DNA was f*cked from the get go.

Carrie's issues have been killing her mother for decades. This was always the end result of her life story. I was only shocked that Debbie went so quickly.
