Beautiful in "The Force Awakens"

She looks like a mature Princess Leia, and given the number of years between the films, it's fitting. Plus, in her new Leia hair and blue dress, she looked so regal and beautiful!

I know Carrie had mentioned in various interviews that she didn't like how she looked "old," etc. but I wonder if she knew how amazing she looked, actually.

After watching the prequel films, and original trilogy... some of DVD, and all of Blu-Ray, which I just purchased in the last two weeks... I finally got around to watching "The Force Awakens" on Blu-Ray for the second time, (the first time since Carrie Fisher died)...

And I took a hard look at Carrie in the film... I know she lost weight to be in the film... And I think she looked great, all things considered. I know that this was just a couple of years ago, but she didn't look like someone who was at the end of her life. Really hard to believe that she is gone.

The one thing that bothered me, which I noticed is that her lips didn't move much. Not sure what that was about, but it made her sound a bit muffled/or lispy... I did find that a bit distracting. Other than that...

Her performance was wonderful, especially with the scenes with Harrison Ford. Definitely could see the love and connection to Han in her eyes.

I sure hope most of her scenes in Episode VIII remain in the film. While it will be bittersweet, it will still be nice to see her as Leia one more time.

There was some talk that she had her lips done, and maybe it just didn't settle well. She used to speak about how thin her upper lips were in her early days, so maybe she finally decided to do something about it.

I hope she gets to stay in Episode VIII and I read that Episode IX was supposed to be about Leia, and now that'll never be. I'm really sad about that.

I'm actually not a SW fan, it was never my thing. I loved Carrie's writing and her interviews, and she was one of the best parts of When Harry Met Sally.

It'd be great to see Leia again, but I don't want her CGI'ed.

Love Carrie Fisher and I too thought she looked beautiful in TFA. I'm just puzzled as to why her long ponytail that hung over her left shoulder was edited out?!? You can see it in most of the behind the scenes as well as one of her deleted scenes with The Resistance Commander. I too hope all of her scenes in part eight stay intact.

Reason being for change of hairstyle from the finished movie to the behind-scenes-making-of is many of Harrison Ford & Carrie Fisher's scene's were re-filmed again after Harrison suffered the on-set injury breaking his ankle.

They both completed some scenes early on together in June 2014 as Han & Leia and after Harrison 8 weeks off recooperating and physio therapy after surgery J.J Abrams had decided to re-shoot several scenes over again making subtle changes in the script for improvement some time after the production's hiatus after late August 2014. Work was completed on TFA around November 3rd.

So where Leia once had the spiraling long pony tail to her left side, it was slightly altered for what ever reason's to twirl up and wrap around her head in the back instead similar to the braided fashion she had for The Empire Strikes Back.

Nothing is as it seems, nothing is just one thing and nothing is ever just over there;

Thanks for that info, Soupful.

Also, JJ Abrams confirms that Princess Leia will appear in the next SW. At least we'll have that...

Fully understood @ holly-4ever,

Indeed it will be very nice to see again one last time Carrie Fisher back on the big screen this December as Leia in EP VIII (8).

Yes, she was. I thought she looked great in TFA. Really enjoyed her scenes with Harrison Ford. I'm going to be sad watching Episode 8 knowing that she's gone.
