Best director of Hollywood?

Do you think he's the best director today? I think either he or Nolan might be.

Neither of them have made a single bad film. How many directors (that are still alive) can you say that about?

Fincher from a technical stand point stands head and shoulders over most living directors, if not all of them. He doesn't write, but typically picks good scripts to work with.

Christopher Nolan is a tad bit overrated, and is still developing. As a writer, his work is too procedural at times, removing the dramatic qualities. He's gotten better with that since TDKR & Interstellar.

I'd also say that Following, Insomnia & The Prestige were mediocre. I thought Zodiac was Se7en without finding out who John Doe was and therefore lacked satisfying conclusion or justification for sitting through what came before beyond beautiful cinematography. However, Zodiac was 10 times what Following, Insomnia & The Prestige are.
