Sci-Fi Genre??

His first film was Alien3 and obviously not his best effort nor is it a favorite of the Alien series but for his first filming effort it certainly wasn't bad.
I have to wonder why his first film was sci-fi and why he hasn't done a sci-fi since then.
I'm just Curious, I don't want to start a Panic or a Fight so let's act like adults and not like Seven year olds.
