Her acting talent is undeniable though.
Streep is our best impersonator, not actress. She lacks the intensity to be a great actress like Ellen Burstyn.

Regarding your second sentence, I respect your opinion. For myself, I have always found Streep to be mechanical, technically excellent but emotionally absent. It’s like you can see the machinery working inside her, calculating. It’s like watching a Formula 1 driver like Jenson Button, who is technical perfection and won a world championship, but who lacks passion and balls. Streep is a technician. I don’t think she’s an artist.
Field has a MUCH smaller acting technical arsenal than Streep, but is more warm and human, to
me.
I can't disagree with your assessment of Streep's acting because the only two movies I've seen her in are Kramer vs Kramer and Defending Your Life! Not a fan of the genre of movie she generally works in. I just reviewed a list of her films and I can't believe the big name movies she was in that I've never seen. But I've basically accepted the general premise that she's an excellent actor.
She's still an asshole deluxe though...
Watch Jennifer Jason Leigh. Ridgewood High (just a baby), Single White Female, Hudsucker Proxy, Georgia, and later almost unrecognizable in Hateful Eight. Amazing talent.
