how in the name of all that is holy was this clown face considered a "teen heartthrob" ?

Was he ever considered a heartthrob? I thought he was a good kid actor. As an adult he sucks

It was the 80's. It was different times.

Back then clown faced kids were considered attractive, but then came the 90's and everything changed.

I don't remember him ever being considered a heart throb. Maybe I'm wrong, I only remember seeing the other Corey plastered all over the teen girly mags.

Correct, he was never a heart throb by any measure. He actually played weird kid characters throughout the 80s and early 90s. He sorta became a joke when he went into a Michael Jackson phase and started wearing black outfits like MJ did in his "Bad" album and always had a fedora over his head.
