Watching him in GUNSMOKE "The Wedding", S17/Ep24, (!972) and I'll be darned if he even looks or sounds like he does in later years/today. Had to go on to the IMDb to check out who he was. Almost like a whole different person. Guess one has to do what one has to in order to hang onto the acting career.

Of course he looks and sounds different. It was 44 years ago!

I saw this episode between 10 and 15 years ago. He did act a lot more natural in those days. Maybe he figured it wasn't getting him anywhere? A few years later he started in with the mannerisms and eventually fell into the self-parody trap that so many of them fall into.
