And a nightmare on set as he didn't break character and would talk in that voice and make noises and grunts and basically creep everyone out.

Everyone's performance in that "Batman" movie was over the top!

He just didn't make his over-the-top work, and Michelle Pfeiffer did.

How could that character, written that way be approached subtlety as an actor? "Bite his nose off, but do it low key Dan, and when you're dressed up as a penguin marching with penguins remember low energy. When you are riding a toy duck Danny please don't be silly."
