Why do people think she is bad?

I've only seen her in a couple things- Strangers and Hand That Rocks The Cradle. I thought she gave good performances-especially in The Hand That Rocks The Cradle. I don't see why people don' like her. Maybe because she is too pretty? I think she is better than Nicole Kidman.

I'd have no idea why people would think that way; heck, she fantastic in the remake of "Mother's Day" (her ability to play evil characters is extremely good, I think). I've seen a majority of her films, and in even some lesser ones, always delivers.
Hopefully, being too pretty doesn't become a problem, RvaBread22; I feel that Rebecca De Mornay brings the goods in that area as well.

She is good, and a classic beauty.

She did a notorious nude scene in "Risky Business" which may irritate some puritans.

Or they may think she has something to do with Wally George, her late, and estranged father — who was a certified whacko, A right wing radio host, who faked an attack on himself in an airport, except he scrawled graffiti on his own face, backwards.

If she has any peccadilloes, I'll excuse them, 'cause she's hot, and stays that way.

Who thinks she's bad? Not me. I saw Runaway Train where she is dressed for the snow, only part of the face showing... a few days later, I saw "Risky Business"! where her first scene she comes to the house and flicks off her dress totally!! A bit of a contrast!

hi,
...it's a whole lot harder to shine.... than undermine.

Wow, that was actually Morton Downey Jr that faked an attack on himself! The weird thing about it though is that I actually believed that Morton Downy Jr was her estranged father! I remember watching some news show about how she did not have anything to do with her father and I believed that the show was referring to Morton Downey Jr until this very day. I went on Wikipedia and I could not understand why there was no reference to Morton being her father. Therefore, I instead looked her up and found out about this Wally George fellow and he turned out to be the certified whacko!

She's basically a hit-or-miss actress. She did well in "The Trip to Bountiful" and was OK in "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle".

But she is a rather poor actress in general. She comes off as hammy, soap opera-ish.

Rebecca's role in the "Manipulated' episode of "Law & Order SVU" was crinegworthy.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

Well you know Soap Opera actors really aren't all that bad. Its that Soaps are paced a certain way. There are lot of actors who wouldn't be able to do well in Soap Operas. They do everything in 1 take. No re-takes.

I think she is a good actress. She one of my early crushes growing up.

She's incredible in the Hand that Rocks the Cradle. In fact, this is one of my favorite female lead performances, period. And she looked utterly gorgeous in it.

fiatlux-1 has dropped very negative comments about her on several threads. Must be an agent for somebody.
