What is wrong about those statements? Our criminal codes are based on them. Punitive measures are different for exposing oneself to a woman than they are for sexual harassment in the workplace than they are to forceful kissing without permission than they are for rape.
To acknowledge this is not to say that it is appropriate to behave like a pig, but that not all pigs are equally piggish.
I can see, as Mr. Damon suggested, Louis CK having an easier path to redemption and forgiveness than Harvey Weinstein. Why? Because CK's behavior was not on the same level as Weinstein's. If the women CK offended find it in their hearts to forgive him for behaving as he did, I don't see why his life and career need to be ruined for all time.

I actually don't agree that he is smug about his politics. He's about as bland and neutrally political as Mark Wahlberg, who himself charades between looking conservative and Pro-US Military but spends most of his time ingratiating in the Hollywood glamour lifestyle. I do know that Matt openly supports Democratic candidates, but he's not a blowhard like other limousine Liberals (mainly women) who think they're the authority on what's right for America and why Trump's wrong.

He's already working on Ocean's 8 and producing 3 movies in 2018, and he basically always did 2 or 3 movies a year. He will be fine.

I agree that the Metoo is just a man-hating witch hunt now. It looks like Damon will be okay. The phony outrage over his comments only lasted a few days, it seems to have blown over, good for him.
