Should he be Pennywise again?

A new IT is being made and in the original, this man played the scary clown form of IT, Pennywise.

Should he play the part again, or should they try to have a new guy top it? I've seen bits and pieces of the movie but my over active imagination prevents me from ever watching it in full! Everyone says it was amazing and I have to say, I didn't recognize him.

Start talking, do we want him again!

It's doubtful. I always thought that Tim's greatest performances were Frank-N-Furter in ROCKY HORROR, Lord Darkness in Legend, Rooster in Annie and Pennywise in IT.

He doesn't need to play the role again. His portrayal was totally different from the Pennywise of the book, and it fits the tv adaptation (actually his role is the only thing that makes the miniseries watchable, but it still wasn't really Pennywise). A new reimagining for the big screen will be totally different in tone, and they'll be able to make it really creepy this time. Maybe he could pull of a different Pennywise, but there will be plenty of actors who can pull it off aswell.

So I hope they will cast someone that fits the new movie, which I hope will be closer to the book in tone.

I absolutely see your point but in the end curry makes one of the most terrifying characters ever to grace the screen imo. I know its different from the book but I personally wanna see curry do more with this character the same way it was just with a slightly better script. In the end I'll always have a special place in my heart for the original no matter what I'm sure.

You may be a clown in the burying ground or just another pretty face

Well he is, so to speak. He's playing the Gingerclown in Gingerclown 3D. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJd-njjebbo

i'd love to see him play him again, but instead of playing him as allowed for tv.

play him different and even darker as you can get away with more on the big screen. actully since i've read the book so many times now whenever i read the book i picture Tim curry as the chracter. anyone else do the same?

In these times, Tim Curry's It was scarier than ANYTHING they have put in theaters in the past decade, at least. I doubt they would go for anything that scary--maybe more gory, but "scary" is a different thing. IDK. I would like to see what they do with this, but I have doubts.
