What the Hell Happened to Macaulay Culkin?

https://lebeauleblog.com/2019/06/28/what-the-hell-happened-to-macaulay-culkin/

At the age of ten, Macaulay Culkin became an icon. The sight of him slapping aftershave on his cheeks and screaming is an indelible part of pop culture. Few actors will ever have a scene as memorable as that one. By the age of fourteen, Culkin was a millionaire. He was the highest-paid child actor of all times. He had also had enough. Before he was old enough to drive, Culkin practically went into retirement.

Culkin was supporting his entire family at a very young age - He was the primary breadwinner and that had to put a great deal of pressure on him. Neither of his parents seemed to be overly concerned with this, mainly because his wealth allowed them to enjoy a fabulous lifestyle. Knowing that you are the main earner in your family at a young age is definitely not conducive to a healthy childhood.

Culkin has struggled substance abuse issues from his teens - No one has stated exactly how he became addicted, however, he’s spent nearly two decades in and out of rehabs due to his addictions. Even if we presume that Culkin wanted an adult acting career, his substance abuse problems were so well-known that it would have been difficult, if not impossible for that to occur.

Frankly, if Culkin’s net worth is in the $15–20 million USD range that is speculated about online, there’s little need for him TO work. That’s more money than the majority fo people on Earth earn in a lifetime, it’s more than enough to support a family; and it’s more than enough to last him the remainder of his life if he chooses to do nothing else but live on the accrued interest.

Macaulay Culkin never seemed to enjoy acting, his family was a mess, and he began to use hard drugs at a very young age. It would actually be MORE surprising if he had continued with acting will all of that going on, than it was that he didn’t.

"struggled substance abuse issues from his teens"

This kind of statement is guaranteed to perpetuate drug addiction.

Because (1) it removes all personal responsibility for his/her original decision to use drugs, because the "struggle" implies that he/she doesn't want drugs any more.

And (2), it tells the addict that he/she is doing something admirable, viz, "struggling".

In many cases, the reality is that the addict would dearly love to give up the "struggle", and keep using drugs.

His dad was working him like a dog. Do you realize that when he was 10, he acted in over 10 movies in one year? That's more than even an adult actor usually does! And his parents were using him to get rich. They didn't care about his well-being, so long as his money could be used to enrich their own lives. So he went to court and got Emancipated, and as you read above, he had drug issues do to personal problems.
