Check out the post for, CITIZEN BAINES

If you want to know about an excellent demonstration of James Cromwell's dramatic thespian talents, go read the posts on his forgotten 2001 television drama series, CITIZEN BAINES, which lasted all of seven (7) episodes back in September - October 2001. James Cromwell portrayed a three-term, Washington State senator who is stunningly voted out of office in favor of a younger, seemingly more energetic candidate. Returning unemployed to his posh Seattle suburb mansion in Washington State, now-private citizen Baines struggles to cope to terms with his situation and how to re-invent himself. Complicating his life are his three grown daughters who seem to have problems more suitable for troubled teenage girls. This was an excellent drama series. But it was too much thinking drama for prime time. It may have appealed to the older, more educated, introspective audience, but not to the majority of the viewing audience who would have preferred far more action, emotion, violence, sex, what not. I'm not saying that CITIZEN BAINES needed any of this, but it was too much of a niche product even though I can only praise its quality.
