Movie help

I'm searching for one of his movies that I saw probably over a decade ago but I remember particularly enjoying. It was a cop movie based in China filmed in the '80s and two key scenes I remember are he was bickering with his girlfriend while traveling through the male bathroom (surprising a comic relief character whose stall they barged in on) and an interrogation scene where these rather delicate looking females surprised a thug by roughing him up. Anyone know the title?
