I was disappointed that he wasn't in AVATAR

Although I think Stephen Lang did an OK job as Col. Miles Quaritch, I would've really loved to have seen Biehn in the role. I think it would've been awesome to see Biehn (who played one of the main heroes in ALIENS) as the main antagonist in AVATAR. In a way it would've been kind of like the same role, in a way it would've been the reverse.

I really love Stephen Lang in the role but Biehn would've been fantastic in Avatar too. But when Sigourney got hired, Cameron was afraid there would be too much of an Aliens reunion vibe. Still would've been cool though.

As much as wanted to see Biehn in it Stephen Lang did an amazing job. I think Michael had beaten him to a lot of roles in the past which i think why he was gracious at him taking the part especially as he has been around hollywood so long and never really got much credit. i think it was his biggest role to date.

Ikr. When I first heard that Michael Biehn was in consideration for Quaritch, I got excited. But then when I heard Cameron was going for Stephen Lang, I was a bit disappointed. While I do believe Lang did a great job, I sometimes wish Biehn did the role. I find Cameron's reason to be, honestly, stupid: He was afraid that with Biehn and Sigourney Weaver in it people would think they were watching Aliens all over again. Really?! We're not that stupid. We know Quaritch is a completely different contrast from Hicks, he's the VILLAIN. In all honesty, I really hope Biehn finds his way into the upcoming Avatar sequels, somehow.

I agree yes Aliens would have crossed my mind for a minute but that is it. It would not have dominated the thoughts of the audience for the whole movie. Avator and Aliens are completely different movies. I hope we can see him in at least one of them. Since seeing him in a new Alien movie seems to be over James Cameron may be our only hope.

For sure. I was really, really excited when I heard of Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 being announced, I was just really happy of the idea of seeing Hicks back from the dead, even when seeing the concept art of Ripley and Hicks together and armed, seeing him with the acid burn scars on him, he looked really badass with his shotgun. I do hope by miracle it still happens before they get too old.

What's really funny about this, is that around Dec 2013/Jan 2014 I actually thought of the idea of an alternate Alien 3 with Hicks/Newt/Bishop back, with Blomkamp as my choice for director (no s***), to the point where I had even written my own outline for the story. I inadvertently predicted this project by a year before it became a reality, I was shocked.
