Weird that she hasn't made it into a Marvel movie
Even back in the pre MCU days. She would have made a better Elektra than Jennifer Garner, that's for sure.
shareAt the time of Elektra she was doing the Underworld and Van Helsing so she probably wouldn't have been available at that time. You'll also notice Kate tended to do more movies back then normally doing 2 or 3 per year. And at the time I think Garner was getting more credit for her fighting action skills than Kate even if her movies sucked ass like Elektra.
Then when you get to present day, Kate is too fucking old now. She might have made a decent Wanda but the producers know how old she is and if the character were to have taken off to the point that they could do a franchise of it they wouldn't have wanted someone her age that could have started looking old as shit before they finished the movies they wanted.
I actually was going to title this differently at "Weird that she never made it into a Marvel movie" due to her age like you mentioned. Yeah there simply isn't anyone I could imagine her playing now.

shareWhile she might have the look right now to do a Marvel movie, the producer don't just look for an actor for a one shot deal anymore they always assume it could do at least 3 over a 4 to 6 year period. So they have to look into the future and decide if they think she has the likely potential to pull off the movie role years in the future. Kate is old, and the odds of her looking hot 4 or 5 years down the road is very low.

She looks great for her age, but it is too old for the hot action chick role that she would be going for.

Yes, as I said, it might be over-age for the role. But to say 'Kate is old' is nowhere near true.
shareBy Hollywood standards are woman is past their prime when they hit 30, by 49 they better be looking for the soccer mom rolls because their time as sexpots is over. Even by normal standards when a woman hits menopause is the end of their time as a seductress as they are headed to granny time.
