Granted....I really haven't been following up on the gossip...and it probably happened a decade ago....but, what was the story behind their divorce? What broke them up? How did they get together? It seems like kind of an odd pairing...even if Ron is a billionaire...
shareI'm not positive, but maybe he assumed she would stop working, since he had more money than you would ever need, but she didn't want to stop working. Supposedly, the scene in "Sex & the City" movie, where they attend the auction of the woman who was dumped by her wealthy husband and thrown out on the street, was based on Elen barkin and Ron's split. After the split, she sold all her jewelry he had given her at auction.
There's a quote in the mini-bio section which may shed some light:

It appears she wanted to keep working, he wanted a trophy wife. They failed to find a satisfactory compromise.
