Milked? Maybe the guy was an a$$hole. A lot of folks with that kind of money behave badly (Donald Trump, Paris Hilton, etc.) Maybe she earned every dollar by staying with him seven years.

Thats a bunch of bull. If she didn't like him why would she even marry him unless shes a gold digger. Shes greedy. Shes taken enough money from him. Leave him alone.

And that's what we call a prostitute.

reply

Haha, true! Besides, she got 40 mil for six years of marriage. The average person would have to bust their ass to make that kind of money in a life time.

Then I guess that means, according to your definition, every divorced woman who's received a settlement from her husband is one.

Unless you haven't been paying attention to the law over the past, oh, 40 years or so, you should already realize that a person is not granted a settlement based on how much of an "a$$hole" the other spouse was. So much for your theory that she deserved all that money because he was one.

Fact of the matter is that the law used to unfairly benefit the moneyed spouse, but the pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction, and now golddiggers/useless homesitters can leverage their status into what is little more than theft on a grand scale. Ellen Barkin is already a successful actress who does not need to be handed huge piles of money she did not earn.

I was more than a little disgusted to read that she's asking for an additional 3 million dollars after already having received 40 million. She's being greedy and the kicker to me is he earned most of his money BEFORE she married him so it's not like she struggled with the guy and supported him when he was poor. She came in ater he'd earned those billions, was married to him for 6 years, and got paid in the end.

The system is perverted. It's not like she's going to end up in the poorhouse if she doesn't get this additional 3 million dollars. It just boggles my mind how people can ask for these enormous sums of money when they can have the life they want on less.

Every divorced woman could get a job or let her new man pay her way. But in this case, I think if she took 5 mil and sunk it into her company, she'd still have $55 MILLION LEFT!
