Which film turned you into a balehead?

for me it wasn't any one film though batman begins was when bale first came to my attention. afterwards i checked out american psycho, the machinist, equilibrium and harsh times and became a huge fan.

Yeah, me too. Harsh Times is criminally underrated. I've known people like that and he's 100% accurate. From the white boy in the hood mentality, to the ptsd, yes sir talk, etc.

Yes, it is. A very good movie and he's really impressive in it. I remember the first time I saw it, it kinda shook me, and I just thought "wow" afterwards.

Not any single movie, really, but Batman Begins was a big one for me as well. I loved it when I first saw it in cinema and I love it still. What really made me a fan was the combination of watching his movies and then watching interviews connected to them (both his and other people's, like actors and directors), and then reading interviews, and then it just went on from there. A great actor in the way I like; very versatile, a chameleon, a risk-taker, a character actor instead of a movie star, etc. But also the kind of person I like; humble, thoroughly down to earth, private, not into Hollywood excess, with a normal life, smart, kind, and very funny. So being really impressed by his acting was the basis, but I couldn't possibly be as much of a fan if I didn't respect and like him as a person, too.

I first saw him in Batman Begins but didn't think much of his talents until I watched the machinist and American psycho back to back. I was at Washington at the time and decided to watch harsh times. The guy at the video store hyped up harsh times particularly Bale's performance. Harsh Times was decent but it was really Bale's performance that really made the movie watchable. I mean if you were to watch batman Begins, harsh times, the prestige and 3:10 to yuma you'd think they're all different people

'Reign of Fire' & 'Equilibrium'. I thought his chemistry with his male co-stars especially in both films made them better than what critics had said in their reviews. Both are still favorites of mine along with 'Harsh Times'.

It was definitely the combination of The Machinist and Batman Begins for me. I remember seeing the Machinist and then hearing about the actor getting cast as Batman. I loved Batman Begins and started to watch more of his earlier films. Then realized I had seen quite a lot of his movies like American Psycho, Velvet Goldmine, and Little Women. It really amazed me that this was the same actor in all the roles.

I was into classic TV adaptations when I came upon Charlton Heston's Treasure Island and immediately fell in love with the young Jim Hawkins. Then my brother told me about his Batman films but I didn't watch any (I had zero interest in comic book movies then). The 2009 incident kind of turned my focus away but I migrated to North America a few months before The Fighter was released and from then on I have never looked back!
