There is a well-known flamenco dancer, Maria Bermudez, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She's on an old video, talking U.S. English just like any other southern California girl. After spending a couple of years in Spain, she came back and I took a class from her. She pretended like she was Spanish, and couldn't speak English. I suppose such role playing is fun.
