Why is he always angry?

He's good-looking, rich, successful, highly educated, dated/married various very beautiful women, and he's supposedly a vegetarian liberal, so why is he always arguing with people? He has absolutely no reason to be so angry.

Money, success and a happy love life don't guarantee happiness unfortunately. On the other hand although I have a happy love life I'm not rich and can't say I'm terribly successful but am quite happy.

I don't know what being a vegetarian or a liberal would have to do with happiness though. 

Baldwin's a good actor though. The Hunt for Red October is one of my favorite movies and 30 Rock is one of my favorite TV shows. He's always good on Saturday Night Live too. I think in 1989 and 1992 he would've been perfect to play Batman and Bruce Wayne.

Is that shallow? Maybe, but so what? It means that I'd be grateful for the type of things that don't seem to satisfy so many others. 

I don't know what being a vegetarian or a liberal would have to do with happiness though.I would think that a diet consisting of red meat wouldn't be good for one's blood pressure and would, thus, have a detrimental impact on one's mind. Remember, a healthy body equals a healthy mind. And whilst there is some valid argument against certain vegetarian/vegan diets in terms of nutritional value, that would surely only make you weaker/give you less energy, something the perpetually aggressive Baldwin doesn't seem to lack. I've never heard of a vegetarian/vegan diet making a person more aggressive, unless Baldwin is suffering from meat-withdrawal-frustration (akin to sexual frustration). 

And aren't liberals meant to be, by-and-large, more tolerant? Surely a more tolerant nature goes hand-in-hand with a more relaxed, accepting nature.  Maybe in his heart Baldwin isn't a true liberal. I know he's had homophobic rants before. Perhaps he's struggling to suppress his true (possibly reactionary) feelings in order to be the type of person he thinks he should be. I read somewhere on this board that Baldwin lied to Kim Basinger about being a vegetarian when they first dated (and before he properly converted); perhaps that is indicative of a hypocritical personality, and someone who behaves, or tries to behave, like a liberal because of social/his own expectations, rather than what he truly believes.

Speaking from personal experience, I know it is far easier to subscribe to a certain lifestyle and way of thinking if you truly believe in it, rather than live that way in order to impress someone. Cognitive dissonance has a massive detrimental affect on one's mental wellbeing.

And in terms of amazing performances, he absolutely kills it in Glengarry Glen Ross. His "I AM GOD" speech in Malice (which you may be interested to know, also stars Nicole Kidman) is also something to behold.

Laughing so hard I can barely breathe.

Check out the dictionary definition of 'liberal'. Here's the Oxford English Dictionary definition: "Willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas."

So, yes, in theory, liberals are supposed to be more tolerant. That said, I think there are many people today claiming to be liberals, who are not in fact liberals. Alec Baldwin may be one of them.

You basically check off all the reasons why he's being angry all the time. How many rich, smart, and handsome people are actually being humble? Why does Justin Bieber act like a douche bag? Why did many people so hate to work with Steve jobs? It's just an ugly nature of human being. When someone get praised a lot, then they are expecting respect from other people more and more because, you know, the world revolves around them.

If I were 'rich, smart and handsome' (and I'd been married to Kim Basinger), I suspect I'd be much, much happier and content with my life than I am right now (then again, I am two out of three of those things, but, unfortunately, not the most important one: rich).

If you 100% agree with them.

I agree. He always looks like he has a stick up his ass. Like he'll explode any minute..I wouldn't ask him for his autograph!

He and Sean Penn would make a lovely couple.

He's extremely immature. His ego is huge. He has intense anger issues. He's an unrecovered Alcoholic. He's been enabled to get away with very bad behavior due to his celebrity. Even most Rock stars grow out of it. Because they hit bottom. Alec has been coddled and allowed to go on, to the point he's like a 60ish spoiled brat the personality of the girl from the original Willy Wonka movie.

He has been quoted several times RECENTLY as saying "Don't you know who I am?" when in public confrontations, or arrests. Go up to any liberal psychologist and say you've got a friend who is in his 60's who still says that when confronted and don't mention you're asking about Alec, and see what they say.

It won't be good! Then reveal it's Alec Baldwin..and watch them suddenly change stance on a dime. Things like well he does a lot of good, too!

Hmmm...who else does that remind me of?

Maybe a certain 'character' Baldwin plays on SNL...

Oh well, they say it takes one to know one. Clearly Baldwin has some insight into that 'character'.
