You mom had serious mental issues that I personally found heartbreaking. I can't imagine what caused it but it was obvious to everyone I know. May she RIP.

It is well known Anna "Patty Duke" Pearce had bipolar disorder. She wrote 2 books about it which provide a great deal of insight, gave talks around the country, and lobbied Congress for more funds for mental health issues.

I did not know that. Her heart was in the right place,for sure. Long time ago ,in LA, she spoke at rally to protest a monster of a man LaRouche. LaRouche wanted to round up all Aids Patients and enclose them in what could best be described as a Concentration Camp. Sounds ridiculous now, but it did have its advocates. Ms.Duke spoke and while going on and on about such a thing ,she went off in a display of emotional theatricality that got extremely uncomfortable. It was so sad to witness. May she RIP.
