Wow

Sean was awesome at comicon. Glad he could make it to Tampa. Made my daughter's year with his autograph. Keep doing more. Love this guy.

Honestly at St. Louis comic con he came across as somewhat of a dick.. I waited for like an hour or so in line to be one of the first few for an autograph. I wanted to talk to him a little bit when I got up there but he started to talk to his line mover guard people (whatever you want to call them).. He then started poking fun at my costume a bit etc. He also said my contacts actually freaked him out. Remind you I was born in 78 and saw the Goonies on opening day and have been wanting to meet him for a long time.

Next day I came up to his line again because I really wanted him to sign my limited edition Goonies score soundtrack. Again he was kind of meh on the personality but was a tad better.

I can say I finally met him but I'm not as much of a fan as I was before comic con. Then again he could have just had a rough day or 2 so I guess I should take that into effect....

I would never say anything to protect those actors with douchey attitudes, but having met both Sean Astin & John Astin (separate times) I feel compelled to say the following:

In addition to the regular stress of life/work/5-person-family, when acting or directing a shoot "70-hour-plus" weeks are not at all uncommon. When you add to that the fact that MANY convention venues & hotels tend to "pee in the Cheerios" of 2nd-tier celebrities, plus a genetic history of bipolarity, I feel certain that you were unfortunate to catch him at a state significantly lesser than his norm.

Good for you that you considered that possibility rather than turning on him. Have a blessed day.

As for the "mover/guard people", they are a function of the convention venue -- NOT the celebrity whose line they're expediting. When you've got an hour or less to run through a line that may hold HUNDREDS of people during that time, SOMEBODY has to be the bad guy (and thank goodness they provide security rather than making the celebrity do it!!).

If you want some good face-time with your autographing celebrities, might I suggest going to see Penn & Teller. They always give personal time and selfies, even the times I couldn't make myself shut up. And they do it for EVERYBODY after EVERY SHOW at their theater.
