Her Career Was At It's Zenith in 1964-65.....

Her zenith was 64-67 when she starred in the biggest hits of the year three years in a row. (Mary Poppins 1964, The Sound of Music 1965, and Hawaii 1966). She was voted the biggest box office draw for 1966 and 1967 with Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967) being a big hit as well. That all came crashing down with Star! in 1968.

After Star! her film career never recovered and most of her roles were in her husband's films for a long, long time. Her box office clout only lasted 3 years yet her obsessed fans like to pretend it lasted much longer.

Ask yourself: did people go in droves to see Andrews or the FILM?
For example, did the masses produce massive hits out of Star Wars(with unknown actors) or Psycho due to the stars or the topic of the film?

Having 3 hits does not a box-office star make.
Of course, Andrews added her contributions to the films, but that does not mean she was the prime attraction.
She entered acting with her voice in the same way Streisand did; they had to.

When an actor headlines three top grossing films , 3 years in a row in her case, I think it's fair to say that actor was/is a box office draw.

Andrews was argubly the only reason people went repeatedly to see HAWAII.

Then is it fair to say she wasn't when she headlines 3 subsequent films in a row which flopped? As I previously mentioned ,there is a difference between the actor being the ratings-getter vs. the subject matter.
If she was such a draw, then she would had drawn in people for STAR and DARLING LILI. I have nothing against the woman, only looking at the statistics.
Any possibility the truth is in the middle?

Ever the idiot, stalking her boards to lay down more of your bilious tripe. You're a broken record on the whole topic. You say you have nothing against the woman, yet you consistently circle back with the same ignorant biases. You have issues. Big issues.

Her total box office in the 1960s was unequaled by any other star, male or female. Statistics are virtually meaningless without accompanying analytics, and you seem patently incapable of intelligent analysis. Compare revenues for any other star of the period; she exceeded them all, both domestically and internationally. 3 smash hit musicals, a satirical comic drama, an epic, and a serious espionage film all added up to an enormous draw between 1964 and 1968. Her television appearances during the same time period (with the likes of Gene Kelly, Harry Belafonte, and Andy Williams) were huge ratings successes and award-winners. By the end of the decade, movie studios had essentially collapsed, dozens of multi-million dollar movies were failing where they had once succeeded, and adults stopped going to the cinema on any kind of regular basis, while teenagers and college students protested the Vietnam war, rebelled against anything that smacked of Old Hollywood, and became the target demographic. Analyze that. Even while Star! and Darling Lili were undeniably major disappointments (although the former actually had plenty of paying customers in England), lots of people were still flocking to see the incredible 4-year run for The Sound of Music, and millions more went to see that and Mary Poppins yet again when they were both re-released in cinemas in 1973 (when they were both among the top 10 moneymakers of the year).

"Thank you, thank you--you're most kind. In fact you're every kind."

All you're doing is adding up the totals for a few films, instead of adding up the number of films which profited. So, if a given actor makes a film that grosses 1 Billion, he is,therefore, the box-office champ for the decade?
That is being simpleminded

You don't call the shots on who uses what board. I wasn't addressing you in order to "stalk". This is not a fan site.
You're being an ignorant bitch, and too self-confident. Now what? Is this how you run your real life, by insisistng you know all? Get over your arrogant attitude with those who don't agree with your obsession over Julie Andrews.
Julie Andrews is not the problem, people like you are. Try being more classy like Ms Andrews.
