His reason for retiring from the role of Batman

"I tried to direct a version of it and worked with a really good screenwriter, but just couldn’t come up with a version, I couldn’t crack it,” Affleck notes. "So I thought it was time let someone else take a shot at it. They got some really good people so I’m excited.”

WTF? So soon? I loved him as Batman. He just wasn't given a Batman film of his own to show his skill and/or range. If you saw the scene where he went to rescue Martha, that was epic. We just need Batman fighting people he's familiar with fighting and at his level, not super overpowered enemies that would require Superman.
