Needs to find career rejuvinating character roles.....

As I mentioned in another post, Woods has been typecast too well as a slimey creep...

He needs to find roles that redefine him as some sort of elder, likable character and if it is a five-minute role, then so be it.

He's just too good in the limited oily stuff

i always think of him in cat's eye when he's upset that the cat is being electric shocked. that's likeable.

also in salvador when he brings the kid a television.

Other than very occasionally doing some voice work, he's retired now. He got blacklisted after becoming very political. (Check his Twitter to see what he's up to these days.)

But to your point, I'm trying to remember if I EVER saw him in a role that didn't feel at least a little shady. I have to think that I did, but nothing is coming to mind. It would be interesting to see him play against type for sure.

True Believer with Robert Downey Jr. He played a crusading lawyer. With a ponytail!

Northfork, My Name is Bill W, True Crime, Contact, True Believer

I really don't believe all the political blacklisted stuff out in Hollywood when it comes to roles and offers - I think it comes down more to the bottom line more than anything else - the dollar. That and there is other stuff going on where particular people are no longer used and fall back on excuses when it is probably their on-set behavior or something else outsiders are not aware of.

Still, I think if Woods could find the right role, he could see a revitalization of his role. I mean, look at Bruce Dern - even his onset behavior seems to have not stopped him working.

The last role I saw him in was playing a whitey bulger type on Ray Donovan. He's very good at bad-guy roles as is widely known. Perhaps if he had toned the political stuff down (a lot) he could have had a role in The Irishman.
