He deserved an Oscar nomination for Death Becomes Her!

He did an incredible job, even with the subtle moments! One of the best comedic performances I've seen from anyone!

Despite his recent movies, I still like him as an actor, as he's proven himself in the past MANY times!

People change over time, people get depressed, bad things happen to them that we don't know about, and while it's easy to judge Bruce lately, we don't know him personally, so we don't know what's going on.

I agree and I've been saying that since I first saw that movie when I was young. He transformed himself and really was convincing as the meek Doctor

I feel he deserved a nomination for "pulp fiction" that was a pretty great performance.

LOL...!!! Oscar for a film.... NO, NO, NO!!! He is a one-dimensional; lacking in depth; superficial; NO range actor. His career ended when he demanded 1million $$$'s a day for acting in Expendables 3. Stallone said.... see ya.... Peace out!!!!

Question: Why hasn't Bruce Willis ever been nominated for an Academy Award?

Let’s see:

Because he’s, at best, an average actor - There are four roles for which Willis could have won an Oscar: Sixth Sense, Billy Bathgate, Unbreakable, and Pulp Fiction. Everything else he did was “Bruce Willis portraying X” and he was average or below average.

Because about 20 years ago, Willis opened his big mouth and complained about The Teamsters - The Teamsters are a powerful body in Hollywood and Willis’ comments were not well-received. Even if Willis ever turns in an Oscar-worthy performance again, it’s likely that the Teamsters will send out a message behind the scenes and he won’t receive.

Willis sticks to formulaic offerings - While Pulp Fiction gave the appearance that Willis was trying to expand his range and Nobody’s Fool was an attempt at a dramatic turn without shooting, Willis quickly returned to “safe” territory, with the exception of his Shyamalan efforts.

It’s unlikely that Willis is going to win an Academy Award other than the “lifetime Achievement” bone that they throw at performers who they overlooked (Richard Burton, Peter O’Toole, Ossie Davis, etc.) or those who lived long enough, but didn’t quite “seal the deal”.

Actually, Twelve Monkeys was probably his best performance.
