I thought he was very good in A.W.O.L., Universal Soldier and Double Impact. I love his honesty in that interview. Of course he wouldn't win an Oscar for acting, but I've seen much worse and his films were so entertaining back in the day. Love JCVD. :-)

JCVD stands for Jean-Claude Van Damme.

It is also the name of a funny mockumentary starring JCVD where he is taken hostage during a robbery and the difference between his on-screen action hero personality and real personality plays a big role. It is in French though.

@r5d4d2 - Yea I saw that. His monologue while floating in the air deserved an Oscar nom. 🤣🤣

🤣

That's a very good answer for someone who is over 40.

Mid 30s is also all right. One is able to give answers like that after he turns 31.
After you turn 38 - that's the usual type of answer.

I think Tom has paid bucks to certain people, to make sure no humble thought ever again enters his brain.

I'm sure he was just kidding.

If you notice in interviews Jean Claude has a sense of humor and likes to make fun of a lot of things.

reply

Trolling Letterman! I bet JCVD is smarter than most late-night hosts.

reply

Which isn't saying much.

Van Damme knows who his fans are. What may come across as bad public relations and torpedoing other interviewing opportunities, instead shows him to be a real person we can relate to due to his honesty.
