Jean-Claude Van Damme in a French speaking role
I would love to see JCVD play a character native to Belgium and instead his usual characters were he has an English name, he plays an american or a Canadian... Most of the time the movie and his character just loses its credibility (for me anyway).
JCVD does have a strong accent so I can see why certain people may find it difficult to understand him sometimes. Come on, if you have films like Kickboxer: Vengeance actually go as far as dubbing him in certain scenes with an incredibly bad voice actor then wouldn't allowing JCVD to speak French be cheaper, more effective and overall BETTER!?
Personally I think if he played a villain or supporting character where he actually speaks French the movie itself would be better and ultimately you'd get a much better performance out of JCVD. Now by French speaking I'm not referring to just getting a french production and casting him. What I'm talking about is an actual English film casting him in a French speaking role - A great example would have been in Expendables 2; if they made him speak French it would have just made his character more mysterious, more villainous and sexier in a way.

It just doesn't happen very often and I know people will make the point that 'it just won't sell' but personally I think thats bull, so many people are now becoming more culturally aware, watching foreign movies because lets face it Hollywood is now just a glorified remake, reboot, spin off, sequel or prequel milking machine..
