Declined 'No Retreat No Surrender' sequel in 1986 when unemployed???

He declines the sequel to a successful film in 1986, then begs Menahem Golan to put him in a movie (which ends up being Bloodsport) around the same time.

Pretty bizarre if you ask me. Someone needs to re-interview him on this part of his career. It seems he was unemployed yet still Ok with declining work, whilst also getting fired on the Predator set.

Again. Pretty bizarre period of his career.

So he declined No Retreat No Surrender 2, whilst being employed? I mean, I know he did it because he thought it wouldn't elevate his career (even though it did elevate Loren Avedon's career who starred in part 2), but then instead he chose to beg Menahem to cast him in a movie? He already had the lead spot in the bag for No Retreat No Surrender 2!

Maybe he wanted to play the hero, not the villain.

it worked out well for him in the end.
