How come her carier 'slowed down' from 2008 ???

It's interesting how her career slowed down after 2008, when she starred in "The Incredible Hulk" (which was a box office flop) and The Strangers (which did very good in box office). After that she was in Super (2010), a small indie-movie, made for only 2.500.000 which never "really hit it", and then came "The Ledge" in 2011 which was slayed by critics and which generally nobody has seen it... and this year she starred in Robot & Frank, another indie project... I mean 4 years only 3 projects... "Space Station 76" is her next project co-staring Patrick Wilson...

I was hinking the same thing.
She seems to have dissappeared after LOTR. At least, i do 't remember her in anything else except that terrible movie The Strangers.

In light of recent events, I wonder if Liv lost higher profile work because she ultimately got on Harvey Weinstein's bad side a la Mira Sorvino and Ashley Judd, who were considered for Lord of the Rings before Liv:

Well she became a mother in 2004 so I guess that her priorities must have changed a lot.Besides, she has said many times that although she enjoyed acting, she has never been interested in having a "great" career or becoming a superstar. She seems OK playing supporting roles in indie and (occasionnaly) in big blockbusters.

She said she didn't have any ambitions about her career .

She has a son and puts her family first. She's been in at least one movie a year from 2008 on and has been doing a lot of professional modeling work with brands like Givenchy. She's doing just fine. She likes to live somewhat of a low key life. She's not interested in being a Hollywood "starlet". She wouldn't fit in with that crowd, anyway. Quite frankly, she's too normal. She's just a nice girl without any ego. She seems to just enjoy acting for acting's sake and not to "make it big".

The Incredible Hulk made $263 million from a $150 million budget. It was a success. It's definitely more well-regarded than the 2003 movie and they're thinking of a sequel. So where the hell are you getting your info from?

Thnx for the reply... and about "The Incredible Hulk"'s box office run, it's not something that i've said but it's what everybody says. You can't have a succesful movie produced for 150.000.000 which banked "only" 263.000.000 on worldwide run... cuz to break even (if you weren't aware that usually the company gets 60/40 or 70/30 - it depends on the deal that they make with the theaters owners - from ticket sales) the movie should have made let's say at least 240.000.000 + the marketing campaign could've been around 40-60.000.000 ... so do the math your self and tell me where can you find "the profit" among these number that i told you above...

Prod. Budg. 150.000.000

Domestic gross 137.000.000

Foreign gross 128.000.000

- - - 263.000.000 - - -

DVD sales 58.000.000

Marketing campaign 40-60.000.000

- CAN YOU DIG IT NOW WHY THEY DIDN'T MAKE ANOTHER HULK, AND WHY THEY ARE HESITATING TO MAKE another one, NOW EVEN THAT HULK WAS PART OF THE BLOCKBUSTER "THE AVENGERS"... cuz HULK failed already twice on it's performance with the theater goers...

PS: i liked both of Hulk movies, either Ang Lee's version and either Leterrier's one...

Cheers...

Because she's worth almost $20 mil, and she has a family now.

Yeah, I see what you mean. The Hulk movies don't seem to get much love, but I did like the Incredible Hulk movie and his character was great in the Avengers of course.

I should also add that Liv seems to be on the cover of a major fashion magazine somewhere in the world almost every month it seems. She's actually a lot like Chloe Sevigny (whom she is also friends with) in that they both seem to prefer doing mostly low-key films with a few bigger productions thrown every so often, but are very active in the fashion/modeling world. Her mother, Bebe Buell, is also a model so she gets that from her (along with the "groupie gene", apparently, lol).
