He's embarrassing to watch.

I just can't take Travolta seriously as a villain. He was the worst part of Swordfish. He was the worst part of Pelham 123. He was good in Face Off, but that was only because Cage gave him a boost. Killing Season? The painted on hair and his awful accent? Battlefield Earth was embarrassingly funny, I actually enjoyed it. The problem with Travolta is his deliveries. They are laughable. His best film is Pulp Fiction in my book. Overall though, he really needs to step it up as an actor. I mean where is his career going at this point? I am sure there are plenty who agree out there right?

reply

I agree . He definitely sucks at playing villains. Broken Arrow, Swordfis, among others.

... He was a villain in Pulp Fiction. He was an anti-hero in Get Shorty. And like you said, he was good in Face-Off.

That, and all your examples for the prosecution are from the past 15 years of when his career has been admittedly garbage.

You and the first reply are about the only two to think he's bad at playing the bad guy.

There are plenty of people includiny film critics who agree with me, not just the first poster and I.

I thought he was a good villain in The Punisher. Mainly when he murders his wife.
