Never had a good movie

And wouldn't be able to do an original one to save his overtated life.

reply

All of his movies are good. Some of them are great.

reply

That's your opinion and I've stated mine.

reply

Right, but the evidence (critical acclaim, awards) supports my opinion. And a lot of other people and groups would agree with me.

reply

QT has made some very good movies, no doubt. "Critical acclaim" and awards don't mean much, though. Better to explain what makes his movies good on your own.

reply

All? I think most but lately he's been doing some bad ones.

reply

Which ones do you think are bad?

reply

The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood. I'm not big on Death Proof also.

reply

I thought The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood were both excellent.

reply

Agreed. But neither did Kubrick, Hitchcock or Bergman. All overrated, talentless hacks.

reply

yep.

reply

Jackie Brown is a fantastic film actually

the rest could be a lil overrated

reply

He did play loose with other peoples' words.
Ex, "My names Buck and I like to F**k "was taken from another movie. I can't remember the name now but I was watching this movie and the guy said that and I said, holy shiet.

Your thinking of Eaten Alive (1976), the next film Tobe Hooper directed after The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974). The line is actually spoken by Buck, Robert Englund of Nightmare on Elm Street fame, while visiting the whore house.

I found another one recently. I was watching Dark of the Sun (1968) which I found Tarantino had screened at one of his festivals. During the film one of the main characters tells a distressed female during a tense moment: I'll be back before you know it." She replied "I know it." I instantly thought of Pulp Fiction where Butch tells Fabinne "Ill be back before you can say blueberry pie." She replied "blueberry pie."

Someone should write a book of these references. :)

reply

Word.

reply

He has made some decent movies but I do think he is overrated. It has been known for a while now that he takes a lot from spaghetti westerns.

reply

Think of all the films in the late 90’s that ripped off Pulp Fiction.

reply

🤣

reply

I haven't seen all his movies but I do find him to be overrated. Most of his movies are middling.

He's one of those dudes that 'movie bros' worship but I just don't get it.
