why did it take eli roth's history of horror special to get him to talk horror movies?

my gosh, quentin had talked about every kind of movie for his entire career in Hollywood but he never talked horror movies until this new special. now he's talking texas chainsaw massacre and dawn of the dead???? what the f? this is so weird. i just wonder why he never talked horror movies before???
