Playing it safe

I think Spielberg has been playing it safe since Saving Private Ryan. Yes, almost all his movies since then are good, but they are not great and he doesn’t take chances anymore. He’s doing a lot of movies based on true stories and I wish he would take some chances again. Movies like Jaws, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, ET, are what made Spielberg so good. Honestly I think Ready Player One his most recent film was a step in the right direction, but I would love to see him go back to what made him so good.

Agreed!

Ummm the man is elderly now and probably should be retired. He deserves it instead of trying to please nerds like you.🙄🙄🙄

reply

Hahahahahaha why you crying. Did Spielberg touch you or something?

reply

Not crying. Just rolling eyes at your stupid comment.

reply

Please elaborate

He hasn't played it safe. He did an Indy film in 2008 and plans one more. No like Indy is high art to start with. He has done more serious dare like Schindler's list Amistad and more recently Lincoln....THOSE are not playing it safe Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park are playing it safe.....

reply

Lincoln hahahahahaha that is the definition of a playing it safe movie. A boring biography about the most famous president played by DDL.

reply

Ummm not really. The fact that it is boring and talky is NOT playing it safe....try again...🙄🙄🙄

reply

A biography about Lincoln played by DDL is clear cut playing it safe because it was an Oscar bait movie that had no chance of being poorly reviewed.

reply

No...it could have gone very wrong.

reply

Surely if he would have let Lincoln survive somehow

reply

You could have a point there. Speilberg's tastes could have changed as he got older. It happens.
