Spacey Returns

shareInteresting. I've always enjoyed Spacey's performances. He's been in some of my favourite films. However, I can't imagine him ever being an A-Lister again.
My opinion on his personal life is that he's probably done some inappropriate things, but I can't know for certain and it's pretty much irrelevant. So I'll continue watching shows and movies he's in.
About time.
shareVery similar type of return that Mel Gibson attempted
shareExcept Gibson didn't rape anyone.
shareYup. The only thing Mel is guilty of is Fascism.
shareWhat Fascism? Mel is a great actor, director and overall human being.
sharelmfao he doesnt like jews but he never gassed them systematically at an industrial level. i didnt know bad words = fascism. the word lost all meaning because u libtards use it so liberally
shareActually, he's a lefty. He obviously hates Jews, but then, most lefties I know hate Jews.
shareMel is obviously a racist "a pack of of N**" but them again what would we know if we hear all the private conversations of every liberal celebrity i bet a lot of them are racist and think like Mel even when they present themselfs as liberals and progresive people
shareI never liked him regardless of his politics...except for Mad Max and The River. All his other films suck!
shareMel attempted a return.. and he got nominated for best director at the Oscars.
Thus his attempt was successful.
He could always have a career in Indian, Chinese or Russian movies, they are desperate to get some Hollywood stars to better sell their films, but can't afford to pay them much, they will also overlook any scandals or rumors about their personal life that would finish an actor's career in America.
shareGlad to see Kevin back! The only thing he'll guilty of as far as I can see is a dumb tweet. The rest is all Me Too hysteria, and the accuser isn't even direct; it's from the nerd's mother!
shareWhy do you think he's not guilty? Because you like him as an actor? Do you know him personally? Why do you think that all this #metoo is just hysteria?
shareSorry scumbag and #MeToo apologist but those charges were dropped. The dimwit whose mommy initiated proceedings eventually dropped all charges out of embarrassment. As for the allegations from actor Anthony Rapp,.they were made 31 years after the alleged incident occurred. Rapp wss already an.established Broadway actor and all Spacey did was make a drunken.pass at him at a party. Hardly criminal.
shareDid you just call me a scumbag, and a #metoo apologist??
I don't know. Let's re-read my words from above, shall we?
shareWell your grammar kind of sucks, so it's hard to tell if you were referring to me or if you were apologizing or calling me a sorry scumbag? Just wanted clarification, like I wanted from Adam60z, and not you.
shareNo, honey. My grammar was perfect. It's just that I write for a specific demographic: at least an.IQ of 120 or above. Sorry you didnt make the cut.
shareReally? You have it correct when you said "No, honey." So again, were you calling me a sorry scumbag, or were you trying to say "Sorry, scumbag...?"
shareSorry sow. I don't know what you mean. Maybe ise is jest too stoopid
shareWell, considering your replies to me, I'm going to have to agree. If you were interested in conversation about Kevin Spacey, and why I might possibly have asked those questions, you might not have started your reply with an insult. Yet, you did, and here we are. You are still insulting me. Why? You don't know my opinion, but you have just demonstrated that you are not interested in ever finding out. You just want to insult those who may or may not have different opinions because yours is the only right one.
We should assume he is not guilty while he isn't found guilty in court of law. Its not a good development in a society when the public increasingly goes after / punishes people just for having been accused of something.
shareI agree, but similar with Manson, when there are a number of accusations spanning decades it is suspicious. That does not mean that he is guilty. I admit that. I was just wondering why Adam was so sure of it. I wanted to know if it was because they think that Spacey is such a great actor, that he couldn't be guilty. I also wanted to know why they thought that #metoo is just hysteria. Do they think that because society is shifting what we allow that all these victims coming forward are full of crap? Does he think that these victims just want something? I wanted to also know why they were so sure that he did nothing wrong. Was this opinion based on public perception, or do they actually know Spacey?
shareDo you assume he's guilty? If so, for what reasons? Do you know him or any one allegedly involved in these incidents? Believe it or not there was a time where people were presumed innocent until proven guilty
shareFair questions.
With one accusation, no, I did not presume he was guilty. More than 30 people have come forward to say that he behaved inappropriately towards them. Were all of those incidences illegal. No, I don't think they were. So there is that. There were a few accusations of him with underage men from the 80s, not just from Rapp. If these same men came forward and complained about a priest, or a coach, or a teacher, we would most likely believe them. So I'm just trying to understand why we have this double standard for famous people. I don't know anyone involved, so I'm in the dark same as everyone else.
As to what he is guilty of, I honestly don't know, but it is interesting to me that no one has really come forward to defend him. Does that mean that he should be in jail? I have no idea, he hasn't been found guilty in a court of law and many of his accusers have not accused him of actual crimes, just inappropriate behaviours.
Would I watch him in something new....I think I would. I would hope that if he did do what he was accused of, that this might have scared him to not behave the way that he has. Consent is so important and I am glad that society is accepting that. If he didn't do anything, and all these people are lying, then I hope that that comes to light as well. False accusations are inexcusable and only make it more difficult for actual victims.
He should be judged entirely on his acting. Innocent until proven guilty.
sharecool news
shareWhy on earth would he take that kind of role???
shareAt this point he will probably take anything he's offered. The producers likely thought he would generate a lot of free controversial publicity in that role.
shareYou're right, I didn't think of that.
Honestly, he was one of my most favorite actors. I don't know what he's done in his personal life but wealth and fame are no excuse for bad behavior.
I would like to see him make a comeback but if he did indeed assault young boys then he needs to face the consequences.
What a sad state to be in.
Glad he's coming back. Only prefer him for his performance, not his weird lifestyle.
